“At any point, if a couple feels they may have a predisposing factor that could create a problem for them conceiving, we would be happy to evaluate them right away” ~ Dr. Mary Abusief
In this video, Dr. Mary Abusief answers the question asked by many couples wishing to have a child but experience difficulty conceiving: When should you see a fertility specialist? Dr. Abusief is a Harvard-trained, Reproductive Endocrinologist practicing in San Jose and Palo Alto, California. An award-winning researcher and recipient of the Excellence in Teaching award, Dr. Abusief is also a member of Fertility Physicians of Northern California – one of the world’s leading fertility centers located in the San Francisco Bay Area.
As Dr. Abusief explains, an individual or couple should see a fertility doctor if:
- The female partner is under 35 years old, but has not conceived a child after a year of trying
- The female partner is above 35 years old, but has not conceived a child within six months of trying
- Is above 38, but is having trouble conceiving after two months
