Gender Selection, also called Family Balancing, is done so that a patient can choose the sex of her baby.  To achieve this, the embryos resulting from an IVF cycle can be tested through Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD), and once the gender has been determined, only those embryos are transferred to the patient’s uterus.
