Smiling Couple with Baby

Chances are if you’ve received a diagnosis of infertility and decided to pursue treatment, you already know a variety of challenges lie ahead. Among those is making decisions about how to pay for in vitro fertilization (IVF) and the fertility medications you may need to take. The total cost of treatment can feel overwhelming and out-of-reach, even discouraging. In fact, 30% of people who seek fertility treatment drop out before it begins, primarily due to cost. Still, when the goal is having a baby, it’s comforting to know there are options to help make treatment more affordable.

Making the Cost of Infertility Care Manageable

ARC Fertility can help patients move forward with care through a variety of ARC discounted multi-cycle treatment packages and financing options. The ARC® Success Program maximizes your chances of having a baby while making the cost of care manageable through more affordable fees and/or monthly payments.

First Gain Clarity On Your Current Benefits & Coverage

The level of financial assistance you need will likely vary based on your own individual situation. If you’re fortunate enough to have employee benefits that include coverage for infertility services, that’s great, but you may be surprised to learn that what is covered often has limits based on the type of service and the cost. According to one survey: of the 57% who had insurance coverage, this coverage was limited in some manner for diagnostic tests and/or infertility treatment. Among those with coverage, 47% reported that their insurance covered only half the cost of one full cycle of IVF. And 61% of those without IVF coverage paid an average out-of-pocket cost of $15,000-$30,000. With these statistics, it’s no surprise many people need to explore different avenues to help pay for reaching their dream of building a family. ARC Fertility has treatment packages that are also designed so that they can be used in combination with partial insurance coverage, such as when a patient only has coverage for cycle monitoring.

Multiple Lenders Results in More Approvals & Lower Rates

ARC Fertility works with established and reputable lenders that can help with financing options available through your ARC member fertility clinic. We’ve partnered with multiple lenders to increase loan approvals and to make competitive interest rates and terms available.

The ARC Patient Services Team has strong experience working with members of the infertility community; they talk to people in your situation every day, and understand your unique needs. They’ll work with you to create a payment arrangement that sets a manageable monthly payment. The loan approved through ARC can be used for any ARC Treatment Package, fertility services provided at an ARC member clinic, genetic testing costs, frozen donor egg costs, and/or fertility medications provided through The ARC® Pharmacy Plan and directly dispersed to the location you request.

Fertility Medications Can Be Included in Financing

The cost of fertility medications and FSH drugs (follicle stimulating hormones) can range from $3,000 to $6,000 per cycle. The ARC® Pharmacy Plan provides access to discounted fertility medications and can be bundled into your ARC Treatment package for one monthly payment.  And, discounts are available to all patients of member clinics whether or not you purchase an ARC treatment package, or whether or not you choose to finance.

Financing through your ARC-affiliated physician is easy and usually quick. The loan application is simple to fill out and an ARC Patient Services Specialist can help walk you through the application. The interest rate that applies varies from 4.99% to 24.99% depending on the amount of the loan, the timetable for repayment and your credit rating. Also, there is no prepayment penalty.

The table below outlines payment ranges for a $12,000 loan:

Term Monthly Payment APR
72 months $218-$327 8.99%-24.99%
60 months $245-$356 7.99%-24.99%
48 months $289-$402 6.99%-24.99%
36 months $366-$482 5.99%-24.99%
24 months $522-$648 4.99%-24.99%

For loans $20,000 and above, we also offer an 84-month term, for a monthly payment range of $334-$512. All loans are fixed rate, with no down-payments, and no pre-payment penalties.

Another ARC Fertility option that makes access to treatment more affordable is the unique ARC® Success Program that provides all the benefits of a discounted multicycle program so that the cost of each attempt is lower over multiple attempts, since only about half of the women get pregnant on the first egg retrieval cycle. Plus, it offers a refund on any unused cycles. This approach offers the best potential for success while limiting the chance of having to pay for unused services. ARC’s program is different than others as there are no eligibility requirements to participate and purchase a multicycle or refund program. You can read about patient success stories here.

Support Beyond Financing

Finally, ARC has many resources on its website, including links to income-based programs that can help with the cost of fertility medications and other organizations that offer grants and scholarships.
