Jennifer Shannon, M.D.

Jennifer Shannon, M.D joined Dallas-Fort Worth Fertility Associates in the summer of 2021.
After completing residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dr. Shannon worked as a generalist in Washington state for six years. During this time, she worked to improve the quality of healthcare her patients received. She served on her hospital’s Quality Committee, updated and developed multiple L&D standard operating procedures and ER checklists, and worked to implement OB COAP, an assessment program to improve both maternal and neonatal outcomes. She also served on the March of Dimes Committee on Maternal and Child Health.
Despite this, she found herself missing her roots in the laboratory, where she spent much of her undergraduate years while working to graduate summa cum laude with a BS in Biochemistry. She returned to UT Southwestern Medical Center to complete her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
While in fellowship, she published on the topics of diminished ovarian reserve, pre-implantation genetic testing, and ovarian tissue cryopreservation. She received specific training in the treatment of diminished ovarian reserve and Mullerian anomalies. She also enjoys treating all causes of infertility and sees this as an extension of her time as an obstetrician and a guardian of maternal and fetal health.
Dr. Shannon views her new role as the perfect marriage of quality patient care and laboratory innovation. She looks forward to helping her patients navigate the intricacies of growing their families.
