Luwam Ghidei, MD, MSCI, FACOG

Luwam Ghidei, MD, MSCI, FACOG is a reproductive endocrinologist who goes the extra mile to provide compassionate and respectful care for her patients. Dr. Ghidei received her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School before completing an Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Brown University/Woman and Infant’s Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. To round out her training, she completed her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility as well as a Master of Science in clinical investigation at Baylor College of Medicine. While at Baylor, she conducted cutting-edge research to determine potential genetic causes of pregnancy loss. Dr. Ghidei also received Open Door Professional Training from Family Equality and is a firm supporter of equal rights for everyone.
Dr. Ghidei has published numerous studies in peer-reviewed journals and continues to be active in research to help advance the field and improve reproductive care for her patients. Dr. Ghidei has the training and experience to diagnose and treat all infertility causes. She is especially passionate about recurrent pregnancy loss, infertility, fibroids, polycystic ovarian syndrome, fertility preservation, third-party reproduction, and resolving healthcare disparities.
Dr. Ghidei is the recipient of numerous teaching, research, and leadership awards for her hard work and skill as a fertility doctor. She was elected to the distinguished Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society during medical school, where she also received the peer-selected Iatros Award, the Southwestern Gynecology Award, the Martin Luther King Award for Community Service. She was most recently awarded the President’s Presenter Award from the Society for Reproductive Investigation.
Dr. Ghidei finds it a privilege to practice reproductive medicine and help individuals and couples from all walks of life fulfill their reproductive goals. Dr. Ghidei is committed to optimizing patient care through education and advocacy. She supports RESOLVE, the National Infertility Association, and serves as a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In her spare time, Dr. Ghidei enjoys exploring cultural arts, traveling to new destinations, and functional strength training.
