Susan L. Treiser MD, PhD, FACOG
Dr. Treiser is a board certified Reproductive Endocrinologist, Obstetrician and Gynecologist who served as co-founder and Laboratory Director of IVF New Jersey for the past 25 years, before joining Reproductive Medicine Associates of New Jersey’s (RMANJ) team of accomplished physicians.
Dr. Treiser received her Bachelor of Science from McGill University where she majored in Genetics. She went on to attend Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. where she received a PhD in pharmacology and a degree in medicine, before beginning clinical rotation there in OB/GYN. She performed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and completed a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City.
In 1990, Dr. Treiser co-founded IVF New Jersey with her colleague Dr. Michael Darder. Under her leadership as Laboratory Director, Dr. Treiser and the IVF New Jersey embryology team received “Accreditation with Distinction” status consecutively. She was recognized in 2008 as a “Top Doctor” in New York Magazine and is the co-recipient of the 2000 Zenith Award from RESOLVE’s New Jersey chapter. Dr. Treiser is the author of “A Woman Doctor’s Guide to Infertility”, published author in Science Magazine, and is an invited speaker at the annual International Seminar of Reproductive Ethics Symposium. Her areas of specialty include improving infertility diagnosis and treatment, particularly in the areas of third party reproduction, gestational surrogacy, egg donation, and reproductive ethics.
“My two most wonderful accomplishments during medical/graduate school were giving birth to my two sons,” she reminisces. “The joy I felt being a mother and helping other women accomplish that goal became my passion,” says Dr. Treiser. “I love being a part of the happiest moment in a family’s life – the birth of their babies.”
