Shefali Mavani Shastri, MD, FACOG
Dr. Shefali Mavani Shastri was initially inspired to pursue a career in women’s health and reproductive medicine by her mother, who practiced as an OB/GYN for over 30 years. Ultimately it was the cutting edge science and technology coupled with the powerful physician-patient relationship that compelled her to pursue a career in this field.
Dr. Shastri is a board-certified Reproductive Endocrinologist, Obstetrician and Gynecologist, and Clinical Co-Director and Physician Partner at RMA New Jersey. Dr. Shastri holds a Masters in Physiology from Georgetown University and earned her medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She completed both her residency and fellowship at New York-Presbyterian Hospital – Weill Cornell Medical Center in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Center for Reproductive Medicine and Infertility. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists and a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.
Dr. Shastri has extensive experience in the field of in vitro fertilization and has a particular interest and expertise in genetic disorders, preimplantation genetic diagnosis, diminished ovarian reserve, fertility preservation, and egg freezing.
As a mother of three boys, Dr. Shastri understands the challenges of trying to get pregnant and empathizes with what her patients go through to realize their dream of becoming parents. “It’s a privilege to be part of a patient’s journey to parenthood. I find it truly humbling to be able to help a couple at such a significant time in their lives.”
