Peter Y. Lu, M.D.

Dr. Peter Lu has been in practice since 1996 and specializes in reproductive endocrinology & infertility. He chose this field of medicine because infertility treatment utilizes a combination of medication, surgery and advanced laboratory technologies to achieve successful pregnancies. Additionally, he feels there is significant emotional stress and distress associated with fertility problems, which also need to be addressed in all treatment plans.

Dr. Lu is board certified in OB-GYN and reproductive endocrinology & infertility (REI). His areas of clinical focus include all assisted reproductive technologies (ART) including in vitro fertilization (IVF), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), preimplantation genetic testing (PGT), fertility preservation by egg freezing, donor egg treatment, donor sperm insemination and intrauterine insemination (IUI). He also treats infertility caused by tubal disease, endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), male factor infertility and low ovarian reserve.

Approach to treatment

Dr. Lu believes his greatest strength interacting with patients is explaining the complexities of problems and solutions in an understandable way. He wants his patients to be clear about all aspects of their fertility treatment including the rationale for their “game plan,” with a successful pregnancy as the ultimate reward.

Dr. Lu enjoys the challenge of evaluating and finding out why a couple is not conceiving and creating a customized treatment plan with clear next steps. He is proud of building trusting relationships with patients based on mutual respect, which is a key component of being able to embark on the challenging task that is fertility treatment.
