(2)* When the average cost of an IVF cycle is $10,000, the 40 women who had a baby paid $10,000 and the 60 women who did not also paid $10,000.
(3)* When the 60 women who did not have a baby on the first IVF cycle purchased a second cycle:
- approximately 24 women of the 60 will have a baby on the second cycle,
- a total of 40 women from the first IVF cycle and 24 from the second IVF cycle, or a total of 64 women will have had a baby after the second IVF cycle.
(4)* When the average cost of the IVF cycle is $10,000, the 24 women who had a baby on the second cycle will have paid a total of $20,000 for the two IVF cycles and the 36 women who still have not had a baby will have also paid $20,000.
(5)* When the 36 women who did not have a baby after two IVF cycles purchased a third cycle, approximately 14 women of the 36 will have a baby on the third cycle. A total of 40 women from the first IVF cycle, 24 from the second IVF cycle and 14 from the third cycle, or a total of 78 women will have had a baby after the third IVF cycle.
(6)* If the average cost of the IVF cycle, is $10,000, the 14 women who had a baby on the third cycle will have paid a total $30,000 for the three IVF cycles and the 22 women who still have not had a baby will have also paid $30,000.
Therefore, if up to three (3) IVF cycles are purchased one-at-at-time by 100 patients, 40 patients will pay $10,000 to get their baby, 24 will pay $20,000 to get their baby, 14 will pay $30,000 to get their baby and 22 will have paid $30,000 and not been successful in having a baby.
