THE ARC HEALTHY BABY PROGRAM
The ARC Healthy Baby Program is designed to:
- Increase the probability that each patient will have a single, healthy baby
- Reduce the number of multiple pregnancies
- Reduce the risks of multiple pregnancy
- Reduce the costs of infertility treatment
- Reduce the costs of caring for babies resulting from infertility treatments
- Reduce the social and psychological costs of not having a healthy baby
The ARC Healthy Baby program will achieve these goals through multiple features that are integrated into The ARC Employers Solution:
- The ARC Infertility Network
- The only national network of qualified, selected, infertility specialists for both men and women
- Requirement that physicians agree to practice evidence-based medicine and follow national guidelines for provision of infertility services, including the number of embryos replaced with IVF and methods to reduce multiple pregnancy as a result of ovarian stimulation
- Requirement that physician members report results to ARC for monitoring of outcomes
- The ARC Fertility Program®
- Evidence-based medicine treatment packages, financing so that more patients can access quality care with specialists, and a refund guarantee, so that patients:
- Receive appropriate treatment from infertility specialists, rather than lesser quality care from non-specialists
- Have financial concerns alleviated, so that they are more inclined to follow appropriate treatment recommendations and not take unnecessary risks
- Save time and receive appropriate infertility treatment when they are younger and have a better chance for pregnancy
- Receive infertility treatment based on their needs, not based on treatment that can be provided through non-infertility diagnostic insurance codes
- Receive appropriate counseling so that they can make better health care decisions
- The ARC Genetics Program®
- Reduces the risk of couples having a baby with a genetic condition through:
- Offering a free genetics questionnaire to each patient who participates in The ARC Fertility Program
- Providing evaluation of this questionnaire by nationally-recognized experts in genetics, with feedback directly to the patients and their physicians
- Offering access to further genetic counseling from experts
- Identifying additional genetics testing that might help evaluate the patients risks further
- Offering tests, such as preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), that can often prevent a pregnancy with a baby having a genetic condition
- Providing genetics packages and financing that make these tests and treatments more affordable
- Reduces medico-legal liability for physicians participating in The The ARC Fertility Program
