• Gerson Weiss M.D. has been a Professor and the Chair of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Women’s Health at UMDNJ
• New Jersey Medical School since 1986. He is a board certified physician in obstetrics and gynecology as well as reproductive endocrinology and infertility.

Dr. Weiss is nationally recognized for his many distinguished achievements. He has been a National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded physician-scientist for more than 25 years and has published more than 220 articles on, among many subjects, the biology of the hormone relaxin as well as topics on infertility, menopause, and hormone physiology. He has held multiple major leadership positions including past chairman of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and past president for the Society for Gynecologic Investigation. He has served as President of the New York Obstetrical Society, the New York Gynecologic Society, the Council of University Chairs of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Weiss is a medical board examiner in both obstetrics and gynecology and reproductive endocrinology and infertility.

Dr. Weiss was educated at New York University for both his undergraduate and medical school studies. He completed residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at NYU-Bellevue Medical Center and a research fellowship in physiology at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the laboratory of the esteemed Dr. Ernst Knobil. Dr. Weiss has been in practice since 1971 and sees patients across all areas of the reproductive lifespan. He serves on the editorial board of several major journals in the field of reproductive endocrinology and infertility and is consistently named one of the New York Metropolitan Area’s Best Doctors by New York Magazine.
