Dr. Valdes was born in Havana, Cuba, and her family moved to the United States when she was a child. She is fluent in both English and Spanish and understands both Hispanic and American cultures well. Dr. Valdes has been practicing medicine in Houston, Texas since 1983, when she finished medical school at Baylor College of Medicine. Her OB/GYN residency at Baylor was completed in 1987. In 1987 and 1988, she studied endocrinology, focusing on problems such as, hormone disorders, problems with insulin resistance, polycystic ovarian disease, elevated prolactin levels, and thyroid abnormalities. She completed a fellowhip in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility in 1990 and concentrated on surgical infertility as well as IVF and other assisted reproductive techniques. She has worked in her present infertility practice with Obstetrical and Gynecological Associates since 1990.

Dr. Valdes gives individualized advice to couples seeking her help with having a baby. Dr. Valdes has a reputation in the infertility field as one of the “Top Doctors” in national surveys involving the greater Houston area.
