Jacques W. Ramey, MD, PhD
Reproductive Endocrinologist
Dr. Ramey received his bachelor's degree in biology at the University
of Toledo. He then attended the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine,
where he earned his Master's degree and a Ph.D. from the department of physiology
and biophysics, focusing on reproductive physiology.
After completing these studies, he continued his education at the University
of Cincinnati, graduating from medical school in 1985. He completed his residency
in obstetrics and gynecology at Eastern Virginia Medical School, followed by
a two-year fellowship in reproductive endocrinology at the Jones Institute of
Reproductive Medicine in Virginia.
Dr. Ramey moved to Nebraska in 1995 to join the division of reproductive endocrinology
at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He served there for five years
before going into private practice. Dr. Ramey continues to teach at UNMC as an
associate professor in addition to his private practice.
Dr. Ramey has published many papers in peer review journals, focusing on both
the basic sciences and clinical medicine with respect to reproductive functioning.
Dr. Ramey participates in supervising UNMC OBGYN resident education in reproductive
endocrinology.
His personal interests include a love for nature and the outdoors. He also
shows and breeds paint horses with his wife, who is a practicing general surgeon
in Omaha. They have two children.
