Dr. Nasir Rana, Associate Director of the Oak Brook Fertility Center (OBFC), has devoted more than 30 years of his professional life to academic medicine and the clinical practice of Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology/Infertility (RE/I).

Dr. Rana received his medical education from King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan, from which he graduated with a Medical Degree in 1969. In 1974, he completed his internship and residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. He also holds a Master Degree in Public Health (MPH) from the University of Illinois School of Public Health in Chicago. Between 1983 and 1985, Dr. Rana was enrolled in a post-graduate Fellowship Training program in RE/I at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center/Rush Medical College and subsequently became Board Certified both in OB/GYN and in RE/I. He is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Rana was awarded a Certificate of Special Competence in the field of Advanced Laparoscopic and Hysteroscopic Surgical Procedures by the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.

Over the years, Dr. Rana has lectured extensively on issues dealing with women's health. He and his colleagues have organized and participated in several national and international seminars and workshops on endometriosis, infertility, and advanced laparoscopic gynecological procedures. Dr. Rana is author or co-author of more than 75 scientific articles published in peer-review journals. Together, Dr. Rana and Dr. Dmowski established the OBFC and the Institute for the Study and Treatment of Endometriosis.

Dr. Rana is on the staff at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst, the Oak Brook Medical & Surgical Centre in Oak Brook, and the 900 North Michigan Avenue Surgical Center in Chicago. He is an active member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American College of Surgeons, the Society of Reproductive Endocrinologists, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars and is a Retired Colonel from the U.S. Air Force Reserve.
